Davenport Locomotive at the Nevada Southern RR Museum
This little 30 ton locomotive worked around the Hoover Dam and the railroad yards that served the dam from the yard in Boulder City. This little locomotive worked in the area from 1936 till the yard in Boulder City closed in the early 1960's. Hauling all sorts of electrical equipment and materials to finish the Hoover Dam in the last half of the 1930's, it continued to work until it was retired in the early 1960's. Please visit the Nevada Southern RR Museum in Boulder City, NV where this locomotive is retired, and resting.
